Tom Harper River Journeys Gets Its First Ship

Tom Harper River Journeys is happy to announce it will unveil its own vessel for the 2016 river cruising season. The 86-cabin MS Birdsong is a much needed addition to Tom Harper River Journeys. It isn’t a secret that the company isn’t plying the waters with the most luxurious of ships.

“Admittedly, these ships are not always luxury 5-star accommodations – and we are very careful not to promise luxury or deluxe where we can’t deliver that to you, our customer.”

And that’s coming from Tom Harper! At least the company is honest.

MS Birdsong Features

The MS Birdsong features a restaurant, a wine bar, an indoor lounge, and a terrific sun deck. If you tire of looking at the scenery, there’s shuffleboard (old school, baby), a giant chess board, and walking track. There’s also an indoor jacuzzi, sauna, and exercise bikes.

Cabins

The 165 Sq. Feet cabins feature French balconies with two panoramic windows. (Book the middle or upper decks for the French balconies. The lower deck features the much dreaded porthole). Cabin amenities include a flat screen TV with satellite connection. WIFI. Double beds. Minibar. And the all important hairdryer.

The Single Traveler

What’s really great about Tom Harper River Journeys is that they offer cabins for singles without the single supplement charge. Sweet. This is the best deal in the river cruise industry. And singles aren’t relegated to steerage. All single cabins are on the middle deck.

Set Sail

The inaugural 12-day cruise from Basel, Switzerland to Amsterdam is scheduled for March 2016. For the rest of 2016 the MS Birdsong will cruise the waterways of Holland and Belgium, the Rhine, Main, Moselle, and Danube rivers. There will also be options during the Christmas Market season.
