Sound of Music Cruise This Summer
Back in September I wrote about Uniworld celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Sound of Music by offering cruises featuring onboard performances by Elisabeth von Trapp, granddaughter of Maria and Baron von Trapp.
Well Uniworld has issued an updated press release about the cruises.
The Sound of Music is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, prompting numerous tributes, including a stirring performance from Lady Gaga at the recent 2015 Oscars. Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection is proud to pay homage to this historic musical, providing exclusive onboard performances by the granddaughter of Maria and Baron von Trapp, the legends whose story inspired The Sound of Music and instilled an imaginative musical appreciation in an entire generation. Elisabeth von Trapp will share the “sounds of music” with Uniworld’s guests on select 2015 itineraries and departures from May through September along the Danube.

Guests sailing on select Uniworld “Enchanting Danube” departures will join von Trapp in Salzburg, Austria, at the epic Mirabellgarten as she performs highlights from The Sound of Music. Guests will also participate in a sing-a-long of “Do-Re-Mi” at the famed garden where the original 1964 scene was filmed. Finally, guests sailing on select “Delightful Danube & Prague,” “Danube Discovery & Prague,” “Grand European Discovery” and “Grand European Explorer” departures will be treated to “the sounds of von Trapp” with an exclusive onboard performance.
