Uniworld Plys the Ganges
Uniworld’s New Ganges Voyager II
Back in February I wrote about Uniworld’s new 2016 cruises. One that particularly intrigued me was the 13-day “India’s Golden Triangle & the Sacred Ganges” itinerary. Well Uniworld has released new information about its new river ship the Ganges Voyager II.
Launching in January 2016, the 56-passenger, all-suite vessel will sail India’s exotic Ganges River on Uniworld’s newest itinerary, the 13-day “India’s Golden Triangle & the Sacred Ganges,” featuring a seven night cruise and five nights in luxurious Oberoi Hotels & Resorts in New Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur.
Highlights include Delhi’s Humayun’s Tomb, the Taj Mahal, the Agra Fort, Jaipur’s City Palace, Mother Theresa’s home and tomb in Kolkata, Verdic temple in Mayapur, and Kalna’s Rajbari Temples.

“We are extremely proud of our new all-suite ship and excited about the debut of our India product,” said Guy Young, president of Uniworld. “Our commitment to expanding our product offerings ensures we can provide our guests with a diverse global portfolio highlighting the most spectacular aspects of each destination, including both world-class treasures and local hidden gems.”
Why yes, yes I would like to lounge here.
The ship has all the comforts of a five-star hotel. Each suite has beautiful hand-painted murals, cozy sitting areas and French balconies with floor-to-ceiling glass doors.
The suites also boast customizable pillow options (who knew?), marble bathrooms boast rain showers, robes, slippers, and spa-quality Molten Brown bath products.
The Viceroy Suite.
Other high-end amenities include flat-screen televisions, on-demand movies, individual climate control, and a generous amount of closet space and under-bed storage.
If you have the money, stay in the Maharaja Suite. It’s 400 sq. ft. of pure opulence. Not only is it huge, you get in-suite dining, a deep-soaker tub, and bragging rights.
The Maharaja Suite. What a dump.
The ship also features two Viceroy Suites (360 sq. ft.), two Heritage Suites (280 sq. ft.), and 20 Standard Suites (261 sq. ft.)
Viceroy Suite guests enjoy daily butler service, laundry service, and one complimentary spa treatment per person. Public areas include the observation deck, a spa and fitness center; and the East India Restaurant, offering an extensive menu of both Indian-inspired cuisine and Western favorites.
Do not wait on this one.
