The Top 5 Best River Cruise Lines in Travel + Leisure’s 2015 World’s Best Awards Readers’ Survey have been announced. Here’s how it all shakes out.

It was really close between Viking Cruises and Uniworld. I’ll call it a virtual tie. Tauck is a solid third.

It’s surprising to see AmaWaterways with such a low score. Over a 10 point difference with Viking Cruises. I wonder if AmaWaterways’ new partnership with Disney will bring them a better score next year? Disney may help them step up their game because Disney doesn’t settle for second best. Or in this case, fifth best.

The scores are indexed averages of responses concerning applicable characteristics. Respondents were asked to rate cruise ships on six characteristics:

1. Cabins/facilities.

2. Restaurants/food.

3. Service.

4. Itineraries/destinations.

5. Excursions/activities.

6. Value.
