Mekong River Cruise With Avalon
Avalon Waterways’ Siem Reap Sets Sail on the Mekong River
Get ready to sail the sweet life on the Mekong River. Avalon Waterways has launched the Siem Reap, a new 36-guest all-Suite Ship to sail on the Mekong River.
The Siem Reap has 18 suites, each measuring 245-square-feet. Don’t worry about small balconies. Avalon Waterways made sure the ship was built with its famous open-air balconies. You get floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall panoramic windows. Just slide the doors and windows open and it’s like the whole wall disappears. As if that wasn’t awesome enough, each open-air balcony has a private sitting area, complete with love seat, chairs and table.
Built by local craftsman, the ship reflects the character, symbols and traditions of the areas through which it sails while also offering travelers the modern features they expect and enjoy. The Avalon Siem Reap and its crew invite travelers to truly engage with and experience the local culture. Through Avalon’s Local Favorite program, guests an enjoy such delights as a traditional water blessing and Vietnamese cooking class.
“This Suite Ship mirrors the experience found on our Suite Ships in Europe. But, perhaps as important as the attention to detail and appointments found on this ship is its overall size,” says Clark. “Featuring only 18 suites, this vessel was designed to traverse more of the Mekong River, providing travelers the chance to enjoy more of Asia. TheAvalon Siam Reap is the only ship in the industry cruising all the way from Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap (or vice versa), as water levels allow. And when sailing into the Ho Chi Minh harbor, Avalon guests are just minutes away from their deluxe hotel accommodations.
A trip on the Mekong River aboard Avalon Waterways’ new ship, the Siem Reap, is truly an inspiring an unparalleled Asia vacation.
