Egypt Cruise – Return of the Nile
Another Egypt cruise company is happy that Nile river cruises are up and running again. This time it’s UK-based Orbital Travel.
Philae Temple
The other day I wrote about how Nile River cruises are back. With the growing perception that Egypt is now a safe place to travel to again, people that had been holding off to visit this fascinating country are now returning in significant numbers. Orbital Travel’s enquiry levels and bookings for Nile Cruises and Nile Cruise & Stay holidays since the beginning of January are at their highest levels since 2012.
The political stability the country has experienced under President el-Sisi has begun to reassure visitors. Tourists are coming back and 2015 will be the final opportunity to experience a crowd-free Nile first hand. Fewer crowds make a huge difference in the visitor experience especially at smaller temples, or at those like Philae that sit within a relatively small site. There is no queuing, no jostling and no straining to hear your guide above others in the vicinity. If people have the temples and tombs of Ancient Egypt on their wish list, then 2015 is the time to go, before the crowds return.

John McCallum, Managing Director at Orbital Travel, commented, “We are absolutely delighted with the levels of enquiries and bookings for our Nile cruise programmes since the beginning of January. Some dates in February have already sold out, which is a great problem to have. As a result we are looking to increase capacity on sailings and to contract additional high quality boats.
Opulence on the MS Mayfair
We recently took some journalists on a 4-night Nile Cruise on the MS Mayfair. One of the journalists on the cruise was from RoughGuides.com who have now included Egypt as one of their Top 10 places to visit in 2015.
Who wants to go swimming?
The resulting press coverage has definitely helped show Egypt in a positive light and it’s great to see such levels of interest once again for everybody involved in this wonderful destination.”
Lounge, drink, relax
Orbital Travel offers five 5 Nile Cruise boats: the MS Orbital Royal Esadora, the MS Mayfair, the MS Orbital Goddess and the MS Minerva. They offer the most popular7 night cruise departing from Luxor as well as the newly re-instated 14 night Cairo to Aswan cruise.
