AmaWaterways Cancels Russian Cruises
AmaWaterways Cancels Russian Cruises
Yep, you read that correctly. AmaWaterways Cancels Russian Cruises.
AmaWaterways announced that it is canceling all cruises in Russia onboard the AmaKatarina in 2015.
Due to the unrest in Russia and Ukraine, AmaWaterways felt it was unwise to cruise the Volga. You think? Back in March Russian annexed Crimea. Then Russian-backed separatists were accused of shooting down Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 over eastern Ukraine. And then this week Russia-backed separatists in southeastern Ukraine held unauthorized elections, which were denounced by nearly everyone in the world. Yeah, the area is not really a hotbed for tourism at the moment.
AmaWaterways is offering guests booked on the Russia cruises the chance to go on another 2015 cruise in Europe, Vietnam & Cambodia or Myanmar. The line is extending a discount of $250 per person off the cruise fare on their new departure. If you’re booked on a Russian cruise I’d take AmaWaterways up on that deal if I were you.
If you don’t want to book a different cruise, AmaWaterways will issue full refunds.
I can’t even find the Russian cruises on the AmaWaterways website. AmaWaterways ain’t messin’ around.
