Danube River Cruise
Danube River Cruise – and a Little Biking
Backroads has teamed up with AmaWaterways to offer a Danube River Cruise Bike Tour. This fantastic five-country odyssey travels from Prague to Budapest.
The eight day/seven night journey has 2015 launch dates in June, July, August and September.
Five Countries
The cruise starts in Prague. Ports of call include Passau, Melk, Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest. That’s five countries in all – the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary. Cycling is along the Donauradweg (or the easier to pronounce Danube bike path).
Highlights include all the oompah you could want at Oktoberfest in the Bavarian forest. The 1000-year-old Hoftaferne Neuburg Castle. A tour through the Wachau Valley vineyards. A visit to Vienna’s historic center. And a guided bike tour of Budapest.
Not bad. Not bad at all.
AmaWaterways
Lodging is on a lavish AmaWaterways river boat. You get fancy-ass private cabins. Huge panoramic windows. Big outdoor decks. And you travel with a team of classically trained chefs.
All of the details for this fabu Danube River Cruise and Bike Tour can be found at Backroads.
